Glasgow, you were a whirlwind of pastry perfection! After our delightful first stop in Dundee, we headed to this vibrant city with high expectations. Known for its incredible art scene, lively music venues, and a reputation for fantastic food, we knew we were in for a treat. And let's just say, Glasgow's bakery scene did not disappoint! We spent a weekend lost in our Instagram feeds overflowing with mouthwatering photos of cakes, breads, and pastries. While every place had its own unique charm, these five truly stole our hearts (and filled our stomachs to the brim):

My Home Bakery: The reason we start with My Home Bakery can be summed up in one word: inspirational! But before you roll your eyes, let us explain. My Home Bakery isn't just a testament to the power of simple, honest baking done exceptionally well (whether it's their cakes, pies, or those incredible almond croissants). The simplicity of their bakes, the focus on taste, and the sheer choice available are already enough to land this bakery on top of your must-visit list, BUT their newly added pre-loved cookbook corner is what truly elevates them to an inspirational (and let's be honest, Instagrammable) level! It was like a dream come true! Hundreds of pre-loved cookbooks – hundreds! I could have spent hours browsing those shelves (Liam actually wanted to move in).

Big Bear Bakery: This friendly Southside bakery is a local favourite and has become a bit of an Instagram darling, and we can see why! But don't let the trendy vibes fool you, Big Bear Bakery is all about substance over style. Like a warm hug on a chilly Glasgow day.

Tantrum Doughnuts: A playground for your inner child! Forget everything you thought you knew about doughnuts, because Tantrum Doughnuts is here to redefine the game. With locations across the city, we popped into their vibrant City Centre shop and were greeted by a kaleidoscope of colours and a tantalising aroma of sugar and spice. Their doughnuts are playful, inventive, and utterly irresistible, with flavours that will make your taste buds sing.

Broken Clock Cafe: the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and indulge in a little bit of luxury. Their pastries are exquisite, both in taste and appearance. I felt like I was transported to a Parisian cafe! Stepping into Broken Clock Cafe felt like stepping into a Parisian patisserie. Their display case is a work of art, filled with delicate macarons, beautifully crafted tarts, and decadent cakes.

Two Eight Seven: This bakery and coffee shop in Southside is known for its delicious pastries and old fashioned, but elegant design Their pastries are not overly sweet, allowing the subtle nuances of each ingredient to come through. The best proof that less is often more.

Glasgow, you were a delicious adventure! We will be back for more - especially those cookbooks!
